Final Fantasy VIII is my favorite game and I have identified with all the characters in different ways as I've gotten older. I've progressed from Squall to Rinoa to Quistis to Zell to Selphie and think I'm on my way to enduring and overcoming Edea's specific problems. All the characters in the game have very human failings and I enjoy that I can see the "bad but in a good way" as Soph puts it, in myself and others. It's helped me to understand how people can do messed up things while trying to do the best they can, and that's helped me empathize with other people and connect with them better over the years. In short this game has helped me grow as a person and be kinder to myself by humanizing well-intentioned failure. It's helped me be a kinder and more patient person and I think it's helped others in a similar way. Thank you Soph for running this wonderful, flawed, broken game. You and everyone at Frame Fatales are fantastic human beings. $50 goes to naming Griever MsPiggy to compliment Angelo's Kermit!
