Four years ago I had my first introduction to speedrun streaming by watching a handful of people in Mike's basement play some old games fast and raise an (at the time) incredible ten thousand dollars for charity. Since then, we have raised just over one million dollars over the course of EIGHT separate marathons. This time, we have the opportunity to beat everything donated in all those last four years in one single event!!! As someone who is currently involved in science research, I know how many amazing cancer research projects are going on all over the world, but that lack funding. A century ago, a child with lymphoma was a child with a death sentence. Now, this one type of cancer is almost entirely treatable thanks to decades of medical research. But, there is still so much work left to do. ONE MILLION HYPE, LET'S MAKE IT HAPPEN! |
