Shadow Complex Remastered Shadow Complex is a 2.5D game inspired by the classic Metroid series. The 2.5D engine is abused heavily to generate 3D movement around 2D obstacles

The Any% run only collects two items, so this low% run cuts out one of the two, and performs an extensive sequence of glitches to avoid the item. Many tricks are precise and likely require multiple tries, but I believe a sub-hour run can be performed consistently. Almost the entire gameplay time is occupied with glitches

Die Hard This is a submission for a live tutorial, similar to the Strider tutorial at AGDQ. I will teach VerySydney how to run the current Any% route for Die Hard, and should be able to reach a sub-3-minute time within the tutorial period. Alternately, I would love to show off the new Any% route directly

Die Hard no longer utilizes copious amounts of stairs to progress in-game time, now only 20-30 seconds of stairs are needed due to a game end glitch involving the roof explosion sequence

Secret Agent: The Hunt for Red Rock Rover Secret Agent is an MS-DOS platformer from Apogee, the publisher of the Commander Keen and Crystal Caves series. This game uses a similar engine to those series

Secret Agent has a number of instant death obstacles (laser beams) that are intended to be deactivated in normal play, but the speedrun is able to skip deactivating several of them with various movement techniques. Otherwise the run consists of tight play to clear levels quickly

Super Smash Bros. Melee SSBM is a cool speedrun if you're a good player. Lucky for you, I'm not. Watch me suffer through every stage in Melee as fast as I can and maybe the cool movement and hoping the CPU doesn't DI away from me. As well as that, I don't know any smash terms like Dair or Side Tilts so watch me try and vaguely describe everything while my couch corrects me on everything I don't know. Arthur's Absolutely Fun Day While this game may be a bit repetitive and seem simple, this is a short and entertaining run, especially as a race. Also, there is more tech than there seems, but this would be a quick game easily fitted into a schedule, and especially as a race it would be practically guaranteed a close ending. Also, many potential couch-people also run the 100% category (only a few minutes longer) which would serve as a good donation incentive. Perfect for an awful games block imo. Status: Pending

It is *not*, however, on rails, which means it can be completed faster than average. It's semi-bad, nobody's ever submitted a lightgun game to a GDQ before, and it's a well-known franchise. Batman: Arkham Asylum Back in 2009, this was the game that proved to everyone that a good superhero game can exist, by having a revolutionary combat system that was well received for its simplicity. Since we got to go fast, we skip through a majority of the fights and sequences with various setups: by simply sneaking past them, using zips, or going out of bounds. The Any% run has become more optimized since it was last ran at AGDQ. While the 100% run uses a route that I came up, and is very effective. Status: Pending

Titanfall 2 Titanfall 2 is a criminally underrated speedgame.
"But isn't Titanfall is just a CoD clone?" Absolutely not.
It features a masterful movement system, slick skips, massive jumps, and a neat little thing called the Source Engine (yes, really). Titanfall 2 has seen a massive facelift since SGDQ 17, with the WR dropping by over ten minutes. The game is a treat to spectate due to its unique setting and pacing, and offers something familiar for those experienced with Source runs. It also has mechs.

Peter Jackson's King Kong Featuring the impeccable voice acting of Adrien Brody, Jack Black, King Kong himself, and many others, Peter Jackson's King Kong: The Official Game of the Movie is a hidden gem.
Certain stages I play as Adrien Brody (WITH A GUN), and certain stages I play as Kong! Excellently combining the FPS, action, and light horror genres, PJKK is an... interesting run. Final Fantasy The very first Final Fantasy we all know and love remade for the PSP. It's a really neat RPG speedrun that is quite different than the NES speedrun that was last shown as none of it is manipulated. However, despite that, the run is twice as fast due to a version-exclusive equipment glitch. Clocking in at well under 2 hours, this is a compact RPG speedrun experience deserving of a premiere on the GDQ stage under this new Express format. Status: Pending

Super Mario 64 DS This run is different from your normal SM64 run. The game requires 80 stars instead of 70 to unlock the door leading into the final level, but without any major glitches. Like the original, this run is very fast paced with very little downtime, but since it runs on a different engine it has a different feel to it than the original game, which is a little refreshing. We have to use Yoshi for the first 8 Stars in order to unlock Mario, and then we use him for the rest of the game Status: Pending

Rayman Legends Rayman Legends is a really tech-heavy 2D platformer run, and the PS4 version cuts out 10 minutes of load times. The run consists of using Rayman's versatile moveset combined with the flexible physics engine to breeze through levels without stopping, grabbing the optimal Teensies and sometimes just barely cheating death. Every level has some kind of unique strat, and with the lack of RNG, it's a 100% execution heavy run where one slip up either means death, or a chance to improvize backups. Status: Pending

Super Mario Galaxy These runs have many tricks you'd find in a typical Mario speedrun, where you're able to skips areas of levels due to unique wall placement, slopes, or in this game, gravity fields. The two characters, Mario and Luigi, have the same routes but different gameplay, (Luigi is faster, jumps higher, and has some other changes) so the runs are different. Any% consists of getting 60 stars to unlock the final level and beat it, and 120 Stars, as the name implies, consists of getting all 120 Stars. Status: Pending

Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes While already recently ran at SGDQ, there were several strategies that were outdated for the sake of safety. The biggest updates are to the early game, especially the tank boss, with other bits sprinkled all over. Even while using much more risky strats, it doesn't at all kill the run other than just wasting a bit of time with a continue and are mostly consistent to perform.

Run goes for Big Boss rank: no kills, max 1 ration use, no extra alerts. Potential for a bid war or costume incentive.

Super Mario 64 I have been running this game and both the 16 & 70 Star category since June of 2012. I'm currently top 10 in both category's.

70 Star is a very technical run, showcasing some of the toughest stars in the game, such as Bowser in the Fire Sea Red coins and Tick Tock Clock 100 coins.

16 Star is not quite as technical however, it showcases some game breaking glitches not performed during a 70 Star run, such as LBLJ and MIPS clip.

Super Mario Bros. 3 This is an extremely safe and wildly fun category for Super Mario Bros. 3 in which the end of world 5 must be reached while wearing the frog suit throughout the entire run. Frog% has only grown in popularity within the last year, with runners consistently competing for the world record and other game modes (i.e. frog suit randomizer) spawning from it. Frog suit mechanics are very unique and specific, which adds a certain level of difficulty and a lot of entertainment value to the game! Status: Pending

Shrek Extra Large By far, one of the most entertaining Shrek Speedruns, this game would be perfect for an Awful Games block. This game features an athletic and speedy Shrek dashing around fantasy-inspired levels, performing good deeds for fairy-tale creatures to destroy Merlin the Evil Wizard's Barrier of Evil and save Princess Fiona. The game features Super Mario 64-esque gameplay, performing tasks to get rewards, using precise wall kicks and jumps to do many platform skips. No Levels Early bans Barrier Skip. Status: Pending

Mario Party 2 Mario Party 2 Mini-Game Coaster is a challenge to complete all mini-games in mario party 2 besides the item, battle, and duel games. While this run is very RNG heavy, there are only about 4 mini-games that heavily influence how good of a time you get in the run. Hard coaster goes through the entire coaster on Hard difficulty. You are required to beat EVERY mini-game to continue, and you may not tie on any game. Always a run that keeps you on the edge of your seat. Status: Pending

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone HP1PC is a very nostalgic game with lots of broken mechanics and speedtech. Enjoy the game's charming but broken dialogue at times. Brightness boosts and superjumps send Harry flying out of bounds, skipping big chunks of levels, or skipping them altogether. Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets HP2PC is the most popular HP speedgame and for good reason. Since its last showing at SGDQ 2016, the runs have gotten a major overhaul with the introduction of new tech like brightness boosts, quidditch warps, and pause casting. Harry won't need to use a broom to fly anywhere on the map as we use boosts to skip most of the spell lessons and manipulate the pause menu to warp to quidditch, skipping even more levels than before. Among all these changes, the game still has that same charm. FLIPENDO! Status: Pending
