Strider (2014) Metroidvania featuring a notable Capcom ninja, Strider released in 2014 has qualities that make it a fast paced speedrun. The primary attack can be mashed up to 30 times per second, upgrades allow for faster ground and air movement, and tricks using both keyboard and controller let runners overcome obstacles astonishingly fast. The run uses sequence breaking to go out of bounds and get items early. Any% goes right to the end, 100% gets 211 items throughout the game, All Bosses explains itself. Status: Accept

Ys Origin YsO is a much loved action RPG for PC, featuring epic bosses, awesome music, and a protagonist (Toal) who is basically Wolverine from X-Men meets Dante from the Devil May Cry Series. This run involves exploiting the properties of his abilities to break the game in fantastic fashion with numerous skips and tricks. Toal EX also allows me to do a skip which saves 7 more minutes. Marathon Infinity The final game in the Marathon trilogy. This game has a nonlinear level order that allows us to skip 7 levels, so it's the shortest of the three by far. This run is more focused on optimal movement and switch sniping, but also has some difficult combat. I hold WR for Kindergarten and Total Carnage and have improved both recently. The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening DX I'm submitting this run for a 4-way race between TGH, Sickynar, Sttaner93 and myself.
In this run the huge major glitches are banned, so we won't break the game entirely, finishing all dungeons and bosses, making viewers still recognize the regular gameplay of LADX. But we're allowed to use really cool tricks and skips, like superjumps or bomb-triggers, which look cool and save lots of time.
And let's face it: races are great ;-)
At 48:07 you'll find the incentive: "save or abandon Marin".

Hammerin' Harry Hammerin' Harry is rare and little known in the west as it was only released in Europe and Japan. It is a colorful game with a wide variety of well designed sprites. I am planning a pun-riddled script based on its theme.

The game has 3 trivial bonus stages which will provide 1 minute and 30 seconds for donations in this ~8 minute run.

It allows for practically non-stop movement which leads to a high paced, action-packed run. There are several backups in the event that I make an error.

Final Fantasy Tactics Advance FFTA is an SRPG with a fantastic job system and a healthy dose of charm. The only drawback to the Any% run is its length and a 40-minute grind session. Sonic Unleashed Last shown at SGDQ 2014 a lot of new tricks and skips have been found helping lower all day stages to nearly 30 minutes.
The game has two ways of breaking the speed cap. The easiest ways of doing this are stomping and quick-step-sliding, but the most significant ones are difficult tricks called M-speed and D-speed, which requires a very precise tilt on the control stick at all times.

Castlevania This run has a high degree of difficulty due to the fact that Simon loses all health instantly to any damage taken. Serious Sam Advance Serious Sam, being a series about fast 3D shooting action and tons of enemies on screen, is a perfect fit for the Gameboy Advance, right? In reality, nothing ever goes according to plan. I do not think there is a single mechanic in this game that entirely works as it should, so every run comes out slightly differently as I try to deal with whatever mess the game puts me into. The game appeared at AGDQ 2015 on Proud Difficulty. The Beginner Mode run showcases the game at its fastest, easiest diffculty. If this run were to be accepted my current PB would be reduced from a 2:54 to a 2:50 before SGDQ.

The race would be between myself and Dajman27. The game recently re-released on PS4 and can be accepted with a race/run estimate of 2:45.

Final Fantasy Tactics Advance FFTA is an SRPG with a fantastic job system and a healthy dose of charm. The only drawback to the Any% run is its length and a 40-minute grind session. Due to these factors, I've submitted a partial category of the game, "Defeat Famfrit," as a race with Hobz. Famfrit is the first boss of the game. The category requires zero grinding but is insanely difficult. A race specifically highlights the drastic range of RNG nightmare fuel and how runners quickly adapt to it to the best of their abilities. Status: Decline

Castlevania: Symphony of the Night Symphony of the Night is known for being one of the finest games of its era, pioneering the term metroidvania, used to describe its metroid-inspired focus on exploration along with classic castlevania platforming and combat. Rarely seen is the Maria category. Exclusive to the Sega Saturn release of the game, the Maria run is filled with fast, precise, interesting looking movement techniques, and even some Out of Bounds glitching! Submitting as either a solo run, or as a race. Status: Decline

Where's Waldo Nobody ever asks, "How's Waldo?".

Submitting as one of four racers for an extreme Waldo finding competition. Where's Waldo has elements of movement tech, RNG, but most importantly the runner needs a strong sense of Waldo finding skill. Waldo has certain areas he can be, and very difficult poses/textures that only well practiced runners can find quickly. I'm serious. We're serious. Waldo is hard to find and this looks really impressive.

Kaizo Mario World 3 As the final installment of the Kaizo Mario World trilogy, this game is absolutely insane. Only 4 people have beaten it, and I am the only one to do so in one sitting. Loaded with RNG, a barely possible final boss, and tons of innovative tech, this game brought kaizo style into the next level. Fortunately, to soften the heavy marathon-burden, there are lots of breaks and safer strategies to use that don't compromise entertainment value. My video attached is a marathon run; PB/WR is a 59:02. Status: Decline

Super Adventure Island 2 A hidden gem in the SNES library, Super Adventure Island 2 features master Higgins in a Zelda 2-esque adventure across six islands to regain his memory and his wife Tina. This game is a departure from the standard "hold-right" platforming of the rest of the Adventure Island series with an exceptional soundtrack and some great platforming, including a few segment skipping damage boosts. NES Open Tournament Golf Welp, It's the fast-paced, quick thought requiring, RNG influenced speedrun golf game itself NES Open. This run features impromptu thinking with ever changing conditions and frame perfect shot requirements showing amazing skill and at a moment's notice. This game was well received in other speed-running events and here's hoping for a race debut in a GDQ to show a game that's grown tremendously since 2013. Lifeline Lifeline is a voice activated survival horror game in the style of resident evil. The entire game is based on voice commands and how well the main character listens to your commands. For a PS2 game, the controls are surprisingly responsive.

If this run were to be accepted I would reduce my PB time of 2:50 down to a 2:45 before SGDQ.

Party Hard Party Hard is a 2-D indie stealth strategy game that, in some backwards way, your objective is to clean the city up by clearing all enemies off the screen. The run requires quick reaction skills, as well as intricate AI knowledge. The run also includes a large amount of AI abuse and environment abuse. The coop run with Jovo includes a lot more AI abuse which isn't possible in single player, making it a more fast paced run. Lizzie McGuire: Turbo Racer Submitting as a race with Kingkc64. Turbo Racer is an old Disney flash game where the goal of the game is to collect as many points from collecting good thought bubbles, dodging the negative ones and mulitple other obstacles. However in the speedrun we just beat each level as fast as possible and disregard our total points. Dodging the fences, pylons and oil spills saves lots of time as well as collecting speed boosts. Rugrats: Search for Reptar Yes, this is that Rugrats game you played as a kid. And yes, it's still scarier than ever. Feel free to put this in a horror block. I picked this up about a month ago, further optimized the route, found a few skips, and got the record in a week. With the inclusion of the Furnace Fun Moves glitch, the Furnace Fun Skip glitch, and countless new time saves/route changes discovered by glitch hunters & TASers, it will be a totally new experience for this GDQ. The run is over 2 hours but tight competition of achieving a top time between these runners is bound to make it a close finish. Submitting as a race between Stivitybobo, Arbliterator and Hagginater. Super Star Wars Trilogy The Super Star Wars Trilogy games has never been done all at once at a GDQ. This would include Super Star Wars, Empire Strikes Back, and Return of the Jedi. The whole run itself is challenging as the first two games can be unforgiving. There are a couple of exploits and glitches we can use in the run that are very impressive.

This can be a solo run or a race with striker (jordanindiana).
