Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light LCGOL is a short off shoot of the classic Tomb Raider series. Coop has been previously at AGDQ, but this time it's Lara's stage alone. The run is quite different from the coop run and shows off more of the levels. It features a variety of tricks including bomb boosting, spear warps, and adventuring OOB. Lara can defeat Xlotl just as easily on her own, and fast too! Status: Accept

This game has never been showcased at a GDQ before even though it has been around as a speedgame for years. It is a very fun game to play casually and a blast to play fast! Momodora: Reverie Under the Moonlight Momodora: RUtM is a beautifully crafted action-platformer that is visually appealing, has an incredible soundtrack and has very familiar mechanics to those who've played a metroidvania before.

The run features flashy boss kills, and very fast and precise movement, especially on the Insane difficulty where any hit from an enemy will result in a death for most of the run.

The category explores much more of the game, requiring the player to kill all bosses and collect all hidden collectibles.

Tomb Raider : The Angel of Darkness Tomb Raider : The Angel of Darkness is normally received as the weakest one among the Tomb Raider series due to many reasons including numerous bug and glitch issues. However, this makes Angel of Darkness the shortest run in the franchise. Fe Fe is a 3D platformer with a great art style and interesting mechanics. The All Songs category is the closest category to a casual playthrough, but there are still plenty of interesting movement tricks and skips in the run. The All Abilities category features more crazy tricks using the new movement abilities not collected in All Songs, including post-game abilities that break the game. Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze The recent Switch release has significantly changed the run since its last appearance in SGDQ 2016, most notably due to playable Funky Kong. Funky is the Kong of choice through most of the game, but don't worry—Diddy, Dixie, and Cranky all make cameos! You'll also see new and improved obstacle skips and momentum boosts courtesy of Funky's gravity-defying double jump and hover abilities. Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze Tropical Freeze on Switch feels like an all-new speedrun thanks to the New Funky Mode. Double jumps and momentum conservation let Funky fly through levels in a completely new way from the original trio, including new routes and tricks. The OG Kongs still get a chance to shine, as the run swaps between Funky and the DK crew throughout. Highlights of the run include 1-boss at 7:55, 5-1 at 54:48 and 6-5 at 1:18:52. Donkey Kong Country A few new minor optimizations were found this year and most excitingly an old Super Jump Roll (SJR) was reexamined to be viable in RTA. If done correctly, it saves 13 seconds! The WR in this category has switched hands about 3 or 4 times this year, and a race of this category would be no different. Dead Cells DASH N SLASH, DASH N SLASH. Dead Cells is a 2d Sidescrolling Roguelite that focuses on high risk in exchange for high speed and enemy murdering. This submission is for a race of a blind seed, that can be vetted in advance by a third party (this is doable, and requires no cheats/hacks). Diablo 2: Lord of Destruction Diablo 2 is a unique speedrun in that it isn't built around glitches, skips, or anything of that nature. Instead it is purely a showcase of skillful play through the game, mixed with extreme decision making as the procedurally generated world develops in front of the runners eyes in a new way each time. Pair that with random monster spawns, shrine spawns, item drops, and more and you have a crazy fun run that is never the same twice. Status: Accept

Castlevania Chronicles A port of a remake of Castlevania for the Japan-exclusive Sharp x68k to the PSX. Notorious for its difficulty and hailed as the patrician's version of Simon's story with his glorious red hair, this CV has never been showcased at a GDQ.
