My dad was diagnosed about 5 months ago with prostate cancer. He was quickly unable to work, and in order to help support the family I had to leave school and start working multiple jobs. This marathon is such an amazing thing, and it's the first time I've been able to watch twitch in those 5 months. It's a magical combination of generosity, goodwill, and awesome skills. Many of my other family members have lost their fights to cancer, and I hope this donation and the rest of this absurd amount of money helps at least one family avoid going through what we've gone through in my own family. And I just want to thank everyone who is at AGDQ right now, running games, running technology, and everyone who had worked hard all year to plan and make this the incredible event that it is. This is a marathon of helping. This is a marathon of giving. This is a marathon of saving lives. That being said: Kill those animals. |
