Had to wait for Majora's Mask to make my final donation of the event. This has been an absolutely phenomenal event, with so many great runs, heart-touching moments, amazing races, and (hopefully) over 1.5 million dollars raised for a great cause. This is the first time my Mom has watched much of the event throughout the entire week, and I feel a little sad I haven't been able to make the event more special for her. She first learned about the GDQ events last year, when she watched the Super Mario 64 race and floored by the skill on display and the friendship between not only the runners, but everyone present. Later that year, her mother died of cancer. Knowing that AGDQ was raising money to help prevent the sadness and loss for others really helped during a painful time. She's been playing Zelda 2 during this event casually, and has been celebrating her new job by making several donations throughout this event. It's only right that I make a heart-felt donation comment during this run, which she's been looking forward to all week. |
