It's amazing to finally get to super metroid--it's easily my favorite speedrun to watch and one of my favorite of all time; I've been waiting for this all week. It's truly a work of art to see the best of the best wall jump around in a truly magical and immersive environment. I've only lost one member of my family to cancer, my grandfather, who inspired me on my career path today, but one of my friends is nearing his victory thanks to an early diagnosis. Charities like this really do save lives, everyone. It's been a privilege to listen to a developer of another beautiful game commentate for the speed run; thanks to zoid for doing this. As to the animals--I think we can all agree that wall jumping is the most beautiful part of super metroid. We can all remember the first time we walked toward that energy tank, only to fall to our doom and spend hours mastering the technique with our primate tutors. Where would speed running be without them?! Pans this is how you repay them? SAVE those animals! :) Shoutouts to those on smogon, especially SJ for reminding me of the event this week, and good luck to everyone in the race! |
