Naming a character for Jeff Lindner (meteorologist and spokesman throughout this for Houston Flood Control)

These people handled 9 trillion gallons of sudden water by diverting every 1,000 cubic feet per second to optimal water sheds with sensors failing and unprecedented levels that broke statistical models to minimize damage and things would have been far worse without them.

For my neighbors in west Houston and Katy, there are free Tetanus vaccinations available at the Hope Clinic. The water in the communities and homes are full of very unsanitary materials.

Thanks from Houston! The water around us doesn't stop with the rain and are expected to stay for weeks so all support is greatly needed and appreciated.

As with every GDQ, please remember to check with your employer that may match charitable donations.

Many thanks from Houston. My family is very lucky to be safe and dry and we've been spending our days helping our neighbors and fellow Houstonians. Many thanks for this event, because it doesn't end when the rain does; there are weeks of water and months of recovery left.
