Sponsorships/Business Development - Contract

Position Summary

This position will be expected to work with management in finding and securing sponsors and other partners for Games Done Quick and other events. You will also work to maintain relationships with existing sponsors.

Responsibilities

Games Done Quick teams work remotely between events and attend events on site. Being in charge of sponsorships means the bulk of your responsibilities will take place in between events. You may also be expected to travel to other events besides Games Done Quick events.

Remote Work Summary (between events)

  • With help from the managers, use your contacts in the industry to reach out to potential sponsors.
  • Work with our charities to build up a sponsorship deck for potential sponsors.
  • Using the sponsorship deck as a foundation, negotiate donations and/or equipment for the Games Done Quick events.
  • Work with various staff members to build out an ad schedule for each event.
  • Maintain relationships with sponsors after each event.
  • Work with sponsors to ensure that assets arrive for our tech team on time for each event.

Mainline Events Summary

  • Ensure that sponsor terms are met at the event, such as ad plays and sponsorship mentions.
  • Work with the tech team to ensure assets play correctly before events start.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • MUST be currently legally authorized to work in the United States of America
  • Ability to travel to 2 or more Games Done Quick events a year
  • Ability to competently use software such as Slack and Google Workspace
  • Strong communication and negotiating skills
  • Experience in the video game industry
  • Up to date contacts with various people in the video game industry
  • Possession of a functional computer and smart phone
  • Self-motivation, organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize important tasks to meet deadlines

Bonus Points If You:

  • Have extensive experience with various social media platforms for communication
  • Have proven experience in working independently to achieve a goal
  • Are an active member of the speedrunning or esports communities

Teaming up with several charities in its ten-year history, Games Done Quick is currently the largest individual fundraising event globally for both Prevent Cancer Foundation and Doctors Without Borders USA.

To date, Games Done Quick has raised over 43 million dollars for charity. Our events average over 3000 people in attendance, including staff, volunteers, runners, and attendees!
