Contract work is typically focused around the events, while employee positions work year-round. As a member of the Prize Team, you’ll be responsible for helping manage, organize, and present to GDQ’s audience the prizes that are available for donors to win during mainline GDQ events (AGDQ in January and SGDQ in June/July). While this role primarily takes place during the event, some activities may require involvement in the weeks leading up to the event.
Duties as a Prize Team Member include:
Attending AGDQ and SGDQ, including having availability before and after the event for setup and tear-down work
Organizing and maintaining prize inventory onsite during GDQ events, including tracking prize locations between storage, stage, and offsite locations
Working alongside the rest of the prize team to create the sweepstakes schedule for the event, including block scheduling and minimum entry donations
Collaborating with the prize team and interstitials team on prize segment content
Presenting prize segments live in front of GDQ’s in-person and online audiences
Helping pack prizes during and after the event for travel.

Bonus Points If You:
Are an artist or creator, and have familiarity with the process of design and construction
Are an active member of communities within video game speedrunning or esports
Have experience volunteering, working, and/or organizing video game, speedrunning, or esports events
Must be currently legally authorized to work in the United States of America
Must be 18 years or older
Presentation or broadcast experience in front of a live audience. This experience could take a variety of forms; event hosting, live stage or improv acting, presentation work as part of your professional career, etc. We want applicants who are comfortable being themselves in front of a live audience while highlighting the work of others.
Flexibility to adapt to a dynamic production environment. GDQ is a live event with a dynamically changing schedule; applicants need to be comfortable with uncertainty and able to adapt as needed when the needs of the production change.
This is a paid, per-event contractor position.
