Games Done Quick recognizes that our events are popular among many attendees who are highly active on social media and Twitch. This policy is new as of SGDQ 2024 to help attendees navigate our spaces, capture their favorite moments, and respect one another while doing so.
Harassing photography and recording is also prohibited at Games Done Quick events. Harassing photography is defined as any media taken with the intent of ridiculing the subject of the media without their consent.
Flash photography is prohibited in any area where attendees may be actively playing games on our screens, as it may be distracting or disruptive. At our usual event space these areas include:
Non-flash photography and video clips are generally acceptable in these locations as long as they follow the other guidelines below.
Participants in Games Done Quick events are granting their permission to be photographed or recorded by authorized Games Done Quick staff and volunteers. By purchasing your badge you inherently grant Games Done Quick permission to use such images or footage for promotional purposes.
Attendees may take photos or videos in public areas of the Games Done Quick Event spaces. Attendees have the right to maintain their privacy. Attendees may be asked to refrain from photographing guests if the guests would prefer to not have their picture taken.
If you are taking a photo or video of another attendee, you should have their consent if they are the primary focus of the media.
If a person who was photographed or recorded expresses discomfort with their being captured digitally, the photographer must respect their wishes, delete the particular image / clip, and cease recording.
Conflicts between attendees regarding attendee photography that cannot be resolved should be brought to Safety Volunteers or Games Done Quick Staff. Games Done Quick Staff reserves the right to enforce the deletion of media taken within our event spaces.
